Regional Conquest!

The Regional Conquest update is now out!

Replacing the Wide Field, Regions are large areas that organizations compete to control by maintaining the most FORTs within them. The operative within that organization who maintains the most FORTs is also named the regional controller. They may rename the region, and they receive a bounty of in-game credits for every particle gathered from boson bursts by any player within the region.

Regions replace the old Wide Field. They are fixed-size areas plotted on the world that the organizations struggle to control. The organization that maintains the most FORTs on a region controls it. Players within that organization gather more particles from boson bursts within the region, while players from other organizations gather fewer.

Regions also have controlling players, too. The player from the controlling organization that maintains the most FORTs within the region controls it. The controlling player is displayed on the region UI, may rename the region, and collects a tribute of in-game credits for every particle gathered by every player within the region.

Other updates

This update also replaces the old "My SEEDs" list with a "My Regions" list. "My SEEDs" dated from early beta, when it wasn't clear how active players would be. It turns out that an active Ghost SEED player is far more active than we anticipated, making the "My SEEDs" list an exercise in futility. With a shift in emphasis to regional control, the "My Regions" list makes more sense.

In addition, the regional UI has been updated. It performs better now, especially at very wide zoom levels, making it possible to use the regional view as a sort of heat map of activity. Reginonal intensity has now been exposed - the more FORTs in a region, the greater the intensity. Tapping on a region displays a popup showing details about the region, including the region name, controlling player, intensity and controlling organization.

This update also includes some bug fixes, and the introduction of Flurry analytics, which will give us data on what features get a lot of use and what features don't.

Go grab version 0.9.825 from Google Play and give it a spin!
